Pursues Grants and Funding Opportunities

Alex has joined the Connect Center team as its Resource Development Coordinator this year through the AmeriCorps VISTA program. Originally from Westchester County, NY, Alex did his undergraduate studies at SUNY University of Albany and received a Bachelor Degree in Political Science in 2017. After spending a few years as a tutor for children grades K-12, he returned to SUNY Albany in 2020 to pursue a Master of Public Administration, with concentrations in Nonprofit Management and Health Policy, through Rockefeller College.

Having been a part of low-income programs as both a recipient and as a volunteer, Alex hopes to use his experience to help the Connect Center become an even more important asset to the Cohoes Community through applying for grants and operating fundraisers on behalf of the organization.

When not at the Connect Center, you may run into Alex hitting the books at a café, annotating books and journal articles while surrounded by highlighters. If you do see him, he’ll be happy to have a chat if you ask.
