Backpack Program

At The Connect Center, we understand that access to essential services and support can make all the difference in the lives of individuals and communities. That's why we've curated a comprehensive collection of resources to empower you to live your best life, no matter what challenges you may face.

Hours

Tuesday's & Thursday's 10a.m. - 2p.m.

The pantry provides 3 days worth of non-perishable food items. Proof of residency (ID, recent utility bill, etc.) is needed.

About the program

Deliveries every Friday to families in Cohoes, NY.

The BackPack Program hosted regionally through the Regional Foodbank and run locally by the Connect Center is designed to provide local , food-insecure students with healthy weekend meals.

The BackPack program provides bags filled with food including nonperishable dry and canned goods, snacks, fresh produce, and fresh bread. Bags are packed each week by Connect Center staff and volunteers, then delivered to families.

Volunteer Needs

Wednesday's | 7:30a.m. - 10a.m.

Meet our Backpack Coordinator at the Regional Food bank to pick up food order and then unload, sort and put away at the Connect Center. 

Friday's | 7:30a.m. - 9:00a.m.

Help pack the bags and then deliver them to families' homes. 1 volunteer on Friday afternoons (1:30pm) to deliver bags to the schools in Cohoes.

Wednesday's | 7:30a.m. - 10a.m.

Meet our Backpack Coordinator at the Regional Food bank to pick up food order and then unload, sort and put away at the Connect Center.
