Backpack Program

The Backpack Program helps ensure that students in Cohoes have consistent access to food outside of school hours. Each week, students receive a backpack filled with easy-to-prepare meals and snacks to take home, supporting families and helping meet basic needs beyond the classroom.

Supporting Students Beyond the Classroom

The BackPack Program, hosted regionally through the Regional Foodbank and run locally by the Connect Center, is designed to provide local, food-insecure students with healthy weekend meals.

The BackPack program provides bags filled with food, including nonperishable dry and canned goods, snacks, fresh produce, and fresh bread. Bags are packed each week by Connect Center staff and volunteers, then delivered to families. â€‹â€‹
